Emily Bromfield

Head of Communications (Maternity Leave)

Emily joined Artichoke in October 2014 and has close to 15 years experience of working in arts communications. 

Most recently she was Deputy Director at the Ministry of Stories, a creative writing charity for young people in east London. She was Head of Communications at Artangel from 2011 – 2013 where she worked on projects such as A Room for London, the programme of writers, artists and musicians creating new work in a boat on the roof of Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall. From 2007 - 2011 she was the Communications Director for PEN International, the worldwide community of writers where, among other work, she oversaw a re-brand of the organisation and was part of the team that established the Free the Word! festival of contemporary literature. She has also worked at the Young Vic and Lyric Hammersmith theatres and was a music and arts journalist from 2000 – 2004.
