| In 1990 we were appointed to create an arts programme for the new development at Canary Wharf. Beginning with a blank canvas, when the buildings themselves were scarcely above their first foundations, we created a programme of installations, performances and commissions, building an audience where none had existed before. Highlights included a visit from San Francisco’s Exploratorium exhibition which attracted 76,000 people in six weeks. New Year’s Eve in 1992 saw the Canary Wharf tower transformed into a giant digital clock, counting down the minutes and seconds until midnight, which had the distinction of being featured on the cover of both The Times and the Morning Star. |
