Eye Openers

Inspired by the magical atmosphere of the city at Christmas, the Festival produced a series of lightworks to brighten the dark winter days. French artists AirVag brought their enormous inflatable, illuminated sculptures to Old Sarum, the iron age fort outside the city itself. Artist Ron Haselden reconstructed his magical, ghostly piece Feté, as well as making a new piece, Echelle, in which a ladder of neon light rose from the tower of Salisbury Arts Centre. And pyrotechnicians
pa-BOOM worked created a spectacular event to coincide with the illumination of Salisbury’s seasonal lights.
