Artichoke wants to pay tribute to Tony Elliott, founder of Time Out, who has died age 73.  The countless accolades that have been paid to Tony over the weekend celebrated his genius, his optimism, his flair for innovation and his boundless and generous curiosity.

He changed our world for the better, bringing about a sense of cultural adventuring that started in London in the late 1960s and continues in cities across the world to this day.

Tony was a good friend to Artichoke and helped wherever he could.  He was an Artichoke Heart; he chaired our fundraising dinners and, mostly importantly, introduced us to his wife, our beloved Janey, who has worked in Artichoke’s Development Department ever since.  We know how much grief and loss his death will cause Janey and their sons Bruce, Lawrence and Rufus, and we will be standing by to support wherever we can. RIP Tony.
